A few words from Jet

Jet’s competition winnings – he guessed how many bricks were used to build a massive snowman and got £70 to spend on Lego! He magnanimously bought Stella a Duplo set, but hasn’t let her actually play with it 😉

In December, Jet and I went to the Lego show together. It was awesome – I am already looking forward to going next year. Anyway, we enjoyed ourselves in all the build areas and here’s Jet with his droids, which he made out of massive rubber Lego bricks. They all had names that went letter letter, number number, like his heroes R2 and C3PO.

Jet and his droids at the Lego show. I asked after their arms, but apparently ‘they don’t need arms, they just go zhhhhhh like R2D2.’

Jet: This one is DABA341.

Me: That’s catchy. What do his friends call him?

Jet: PE1.

Me: Sure, it’s an obvious contraction…

Jet and Father Christmas waxed lyrical on the merits of Lego, Star Wars and Star Wars Lego. Having made an impression on The Big Man, Jet’s stocking ranneth over.

Christmas, the Lego and his recent competition win, have brought with it a house full of Lego models. As well as filling many shelves with spaceships and other vehicles, all this building has been very tiring and has taken its toll on Jet’s already sometimes limited attention span. Either that or he is trying to outwit me…

Jet (Marching into the kitchen with an announcement to make): I’ve parked all the spaceships in different places.

Me: Watch where you put them lovely boy, in case Stella gets hold of them. She’ll break them up.

Jet (absently): Break what up?

Me: The spaceships.

Jet: What spaceships?

  1. Hahaha love that he immediately forgot what he had said to you! Monkey does that too sometimes, hilarious. He would also have loved all that lego! Congrats to jet for winning it all! #ftmob

  2. Wowee, that’s a brilliant win. How sweet that he bought something for Stella too, even if he hasn’t actually handed it over. Love the number names, wouldn’t life just be so much more fun if we gave our names as numbers and our towns strictly as postcodes when we meet people. Happy Birthday Jet!! Amazing cake on FB btw…ahhhmazing x

    1. Oh he’s handed it over, for approximately four milliseconds before he decides that he wants to play with it and sort of takes over! 🙂 The cake has taken a serious hammering now – R2D2 is mainly good for spare parts now, if he’s lucky 😉 x

    1. I know! I could hardly believe it! We do shop there all the time. In fact, we only discovered our win because we were in there buying some Lego for a friend of Jet’s birthday and saw the Toys manager going through all the competition entries. I saw our entry and jokingly said ‘can you make sure we win,’ and she said ‘that’s the winning entry!’ Happy Days! x

  3. Wow what a lucky boy! And very generous too spending some of his winnings on his sister 😀 That spaceship exchange cracked me up… How funny that he was just so oblivious to it all, even if he actually brought it up 😀 Kids! #ftmob

  4. I love children’s logic. It makes more sense to me than most adult’s reasoning. Well done on his Lego haul! Little Lego superstar.

  5. Good haul by Jet there! I never win anything – I’m impressed! Love the genius of picking Stella a present but not letting her actually use it. Are there missing spaceships all over your house now, as Jet put them in different places and immediately forgot they even existed?! xx #marvmondays

      1. Hahah I was just thinking “I’ve never linked up to Marvellous Mondays – or have I?” I think a bit of Jet’s absent mindedness may have rubbed off on me… x

  6. Wow that is a very impressive Lego haul – well done to Jet on winning the competition! Love his giant Lego-brick droids and the shortening of DABA341 to PE1 made me laugh – makes you wonder what their thought process is, doesn’t it? Funny how they tell you something and seem to have completely forgotten about seconds later though isn’t it? Thank you for linking up to #ftmob 🙂

  7. Well done Jet for winning. I always loved lego as a kid, but less so as an adult. They can kill a hoover, and are bloody sharp to stand on.
Thanks for linking up with us, Tracey xx #abitofeverything
